Gov't to cut stock transaction tax by 0.05%p
The government has decided to lower the stock transaction tax rate by 0.05 percentage points to 0.25 percent this year, and seek to gradually abolish it by 2024. At the same time, it will increase the scope of capital gains taxes on the trading of KOSPI and KOSDAQ shares, while offering incentives to funds investing in tech companies.

Multiracial marriages hit 4-year high
The number of multiracial marriages reached a four-year high of 22,698 in 2018, according to Statistics Korea, Wednesday. The figure rose by 1,863, or nearly 9 percent, from the year before, the highest increase in 13 years, it added. Multiracial marriages accounted for 8.8 percent of the total in 2018, up 0.9 percentage points from 2017.
