Daesang Group Honorary Chairwoman Lim Chang-wook's second daughter Lim Sang-min has been promoted to vice president of Daesang, the company said Wednesday.

It has been in six years and four months since she was tapped as executive director of the company.

Lim studied at Ewha Womans University's Department of History and acquired a Master of Business Administration from London Business School.

She started her career at UTC Investment, Daesang Group's venture capital affiliate, in 2007 and joined the headquarters' management innovation team in August 2009. After that, she served as the deputy head of the planning and management department and now she is a chief strategy officer of the company.

A company official said Lim has contributed to the company by improving management efficiency through mergers and restructuring of Daesang's affiliates, securing new growth engines, promoting strategic tasks for corporate sustainability management, establishing a global production base and participating in the group's strategic merger and acquisition undertakings.

"Vice President Lim is leading the company's strategy and its implantation with her practical leadership. The company decided to promote her to respond effectively to rapidly changing domestic and foreign business environment as well as to expedite and accurately implement group-level mid-to long-term projects," the official said.

The vice president's older sister Lim Sae-ryung was promoted to vice chairwoman of Daesang Holdings and Daesang Group, last year. She is in charge of the entire strategic affairs of Daesang and marketing of Daesang Holdings. The sisters have different roles and responsibilities, but at the same time, are competing with one another to prove their capabilities in the company.
