SK Innovation said Tuesday that it raised a 3.6 billion won ($2.9 million) fund in 2022 for its partner companies under the spirit of "Growing Together."
The firm held the fund delivery ceremony at SK Innovation Ulsan Complex in Nam District, Ulsan. SK Innovation Vice Chairman Kim Jun participated in the event to deliver the money to six representatives of its partner firms.
The fund was created by collecting contributions from 1 percent of SK's Happiness Sharing Fund and 1 percent of employees' basic pay donations as well as from the government and cooperative firms using the matching grant method.
The money will be delivered to 6,658 workers at 74 partner firms to mark the Lunar New Year. The remaining funds will be used to renew the accident insurance of companies and welfare programs to improve the working conditions of the allied employees.
"SK Innovation took a leap and achieved growth with its cooperative firms over the past 60 years by overcoming small and big difficulties together. The past journey of shared hardship with our partners has given us deep trust and this will be the driving force for our relationship to continue in the next 60 years," Kim said.
SK Innovation' union head Park Yul-hee also said the company is strengthening trust, co-prosperity and cooperative relationships with its partners by delivering the fund for six straight years.
"I hope that SK Innovation will continue to build and settle its own style of donation culture for the next 10 years," Park said.
