Korea's legendary golf icon Pak Se-ri has recovered from COVID-19 and will return to her normal life as a TV personality and business owner.

Pak, 43, said on Instagram May 9 that she had recovered after being infected with the coronavirus April 24.

"I want to thank my fans and medical personnel now that I am back to normal life, sound and healthy," Pak said on the social network.

She said she is now spending "time recharging" before returning to her TV show "Sporty Sisters" and resuming other public roles.

"I realized how grateful I am to have a normal life… and there are still many people suffering from the coronavirus right now," said the 2007 inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame who won 25 titles, including five majors, during her LPGA career.

Pak is expected to return to the weekly E Channel cable network TV variety show that she started in August 2020 with other female athletes, including regulars fencer Nam Hyun-hee and swimmer Chung Yoo-in. Park is also expected to take a stronger position at her company BAZ International, a sports brand and content developing firm based in southern Seoul.

Pak contracted COVID-19 when she came into contact with musical actor Son Jun-ho ― who was infected ― during the April 21 broadcast of "Serizabeth," an online talk show on Korean portal channel Naver NOW. Son had appeared as a guest on the show that Pak hosted. After finding out that Son tested positive April 23, Pak discovered she was also infected the following day.

Following her golf career from 1996 to 2016, she became a regular fixture on several TV variety shows in addition to appearing in advertisements, proving her versatility off the green.
