Korea's Army chief of staff was set to leave for Washington on Sunday for talks with his U.S. counterpart, Gen. Randy George, to discuss exchange and cooperation between their armies, according to the Army.

Gen. Park An-su will then fly to Hawaii to attend the Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium and is set to hold high-level talks with his counterparts from major countries on regional peace and stability as well as cooperation in the military and defense industry.

Park also plans to visit the U.S. Army Pacific and discuss ways to boost joint drills on the island. (Yonhap)
