Nongshim, a Korean food multinational, has launched new health supplement capsules with krill oil to alleviate weakened joints, according to the major food company, Thursday.
According to the company's sub-brand, Lifill, the capsules contain three ingredients known to be particularly effective for worn-out joints — hyaluronic acid, astaxanthin and krill oil — in a new combination to maximize their effects.
Lifill used hyaluronic acid's unique function of perichondrium reformation, astaxanthin's antioxidation function that removes residue and soothes inflammation, as well as krill oil's function of mitigating joint pain.
Lifill has acquired an exclusive supply deal for krill oil with the United States' Valensa, a Florida-based health supplement developer. The main ingredient of the new capsules comes from FlexPro MD, a core ingredient Valensa offers only to strategic markets worldwide, according to the company.
"We confirmed FlexPro MD's superb quality in treating aged human joints and ventured to acquire it through an exclusive supply deal for health supplement purposes," said an official from Nongshim.
Another consumer-friendly feature of the new capsule is its smaller size compared to similar pills already on retail shelves. The company said most other pills are too big to swallow easily and require two per day. Lifill's new capsule has been made small enough for comfortable swallowing, only once per day.
Nongshim will unveil the new capsule at a homeshopping channel on GS Shop on Saturday.
"People say we are now living in an era where living to 100 years old is the new norm and more people are paying attention to symptoms that come with aging like discomforts in joints," the official said.
