GM Korea, Kia, Porsche to recall over 15,000 cars due to faulty parts

GM Korea and two other car makers will recall over 15,000 vehicles due to defective components, the transport ministry said Wednesday.

The companies, which also include Kia and Porsche Korea, are voluntarily recalling 15,812 units of three different vehicle models, the ministry said.

GM Korea will recall 9,627 units of its Trax Crossover model due to an error in the dashboard software. Kia will recall 6,106 units of its Soul electric vehicle due to a programming error in its electronic parking brake system.

Porsche Korea will recall 79 units of its Porsche 911 model also in response to a software error in the airbag control unit, the ministry said. (Yonhap)
