Netflix's newest Korean original series "Doona!" explores the heartfelt romance of a young couple from completely opposite worlds, while giving a glimpse of the struggles of K-pop idols.
넷플릭스 한국 드라마 최신작 ‘이두나!'가 전혀 다른 세상을 살아온 두 청춘 남녀의 애틋한 사랑을 그리는 동시에 K팝 아이돌이 겪는 아픔도 엿보여준다.
Based on the popular webcomic "The Girl Downstairs," the nine-part series, which hit the platform on Oct. 20, centers on former K-pop star Lee Doo-na (Bae Suzy), who suddenly announces her retirement and hides from the public, moving into a shared house where she rents out an entire floor.
지난 10월 20일 넷플릭스에 공개된 유명 웹툰 ‘이두나!'를 기반으로 한 9부작 드라마는 돌연 은퇴를 선언하고 대중에게서 도망쳐 셰어하우스의 한 층을 통째로 빌려 사는 전 K팝 스타 이두나(배수지 분)를 주인공으로 한다.
She comes across ordinary college student Lee Won-joon (Yang Se-jong) and falls for his warm personality, feeling the comfort that she has never experienced in the cutthroat music industry.
두나는 평범한 대학생 이원준(양세종 분)과 마주쳐 그의 따듯한 심성에 빠지게 되고, 치열한 연예계에서 경험하지 못했던 안정감을 느낀다.
The series follows the evolution of their relationship from their meet-cute to slowly growing affection for each other. Yet, when Doo-na decides to pick up her music career and return to celebrity life, the two drift apart.
드라마는 귀여운 첫 만남 이후 천천히 서로에게 사랑을 느끼는 두 사람의 관계 발전을 따라간다. 하지만, 두나가 연예계 복귀를 결심하고 톱스타의 삶으로 돌아가면서 둘은 헤어진다.
Director Lee Jung-hyo, who led the 2019 smash hit series, "Crash Landing on You," keeps the two's romantic fate open-ended, leaving questions open on whether they finally got back together later in life.
2019년 대히트작 ‘사랑의 불시착'을 연출한 이정효 감독은 두 사람의 로맨스를 열린 결말로 끝내며 이후 두 사람이 재회했는지 여부를 시청자의 판단에 맡긴다.
The two lead actors shared their own takes on the ending, expressing their satisfaction with the ambiguity.
두 배우는 엔딩에 대한 각자의 해석을 공유하며, 결말의 중의성에 만족감을 드러냈다.
