The government's administrative network was operating normally Monday, one day after it recovered from a three-day system failure.
On Friday, the Saeol administrative network, a system used by public workers to access government-approved documents, and the widely used online Government 24 portal broke down due to a suspected issue with equipment failure.
The government restored the administrative network Sunday after massive delays and disruptions occurred to both offline and online issuances of civil documents, such as resident registration papers, for two days.
All civil service offices and community service centers in Seoul and elsewhere were issuing all administrative documents normally through both civil service counters and unmanned document issuing machines as of Monday morning.
Lee Won-kyeong, a resident of Seoul's Seodaemun Ward, received a copy of his resident registration for real estate contracts from the Namgajwa 1-dong Community Service Center around 9 a.m. after failing to get the document on his previous visit Friday.
"I came early this morning to get a copy of my resident registration due to inconvenience experienced during the network failure last Friday," Lee said, adding that everything is fine Monday.
The community center was also congested with many other people who looked anxious, but center officials reassured them by saying all services are normal. (Yonhap)
