The center will also provide a free metabolic syndrome test.
The center is celebrating World Health Month for April 2017, together with the district office and the city government.
World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7 to mark the anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), founded on April 7, 1948. Each year the U.N. selects a theme to highlight a priority in public health.
To get foreign residents in Seoul involved in activities that can lead to better health, the center will offer various programs.
Foreigners aged from 20 to 64 are invited to take the health checkup. This will cover a test for metabolic syndrome comprising blood sugar, blood pressure, neutral fat, cholesterol, BMI, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
This is just a checkup. Medical care or treatment will not be provided. Those who need extra medical care should visit a hospital by themselves with the checkup results.
The examinations will be held on a first come, first served basis. People are encouraged to register beforehand via email to kapcorteza@yongsan.go.kr with name, nationality and phone number.
The checkups are scheduled to be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
To get to the center, leave exit 2 of Itaewon Station, walk straight for 200 meters and look for the Hannam Building which has a 7-Eleven store on the first floor. The center is on the fifth floor of that building.
