A renowned Korean DJ says she was groped by members of a large crowd during a music festival in Japan.
On Monday, DJ Soda shared a lengthy post on social media claiming she had been a victim of sexual harassment. She wrote, "I just finished by performance at the Osaka Music Circus Festival in Japan, and my hands are still trembling from shock and fear after what just happened."
She explained, "I approached my fans near the end of my performance because I wanted to get closer to them, but several members of the crowd started groping my breasts before I even realized what was happening." DJ Soda uploaded several photos captured from the incident as evidence.
"I was absolutely terrified at that moment, but at the same time, there were so many fans who were happy to see me and some of them were even crying. So, I did my best to pretend everything was okay."
"Even now, I'm really scared. In my 10-year career as a DJ, I've never had anything like this happen to me on stage. It's hard to believe what went down and I'm probably going to feel less comfortable about approaching my fans up close in the future."
DJ Soda is a world-renowned disc jockey who is active in Korea and on the international stage. She has been named Korea's top DJ as well as the number-one DJ in Asia's Top 25 list by EDM Droid. DJ Soda is followed by more than 5 million people on Instagram and recently performed at Thailand's Songkran S2O Festival as the first-ever Korean headliner.
