Rolls-Royce Motor Cars introduced its first-ever all-electric model, the Spectre, in the Asia-Pacific region, at a press event in Seoul, Friday.
"I am pleased to introduce the Spectre, the most highly anticipated model in Rolls-Royce history, for the first time in Korea and the Asia-Pacific region," Irene Nikkein, the Asia-Pacific regional general manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said. "The Spectre embodies the bold electrified future presented by Rolls-Royce, combining the essence of true engineering with modern design and representing the effortless super-luxury experience that is natural to the brand."
The electric drive system incorporated in the Spectre provides explosive acceleration, power, and immediate torque, according to the luxury automaker. Its driving range is approximately 520km based on WLTP standards, and the powertrain delivers impressive performance with a maximum output of 430kW and a peak torque of 91.8kg.m. It takes 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h from a standstill, it added.
According to the company, Korea stands as the most dynamically growing market globally, with domestic Rolls-Royce sales witnessing a 45 percent increase over the past three years. Rolls-Royce plans to strengthen its exclusive brand experience by focusing on the young customer base and the growing demand for bespoke customization.
"Korea is the fastest-growing country and one of the most important markets for Rolls-Royce worldwide, with the highest number of Spectre pre-orders in the Asia-Pacific region. This captures the demands and imagination of both existing and new Rolls-Royce customers in Korea," Nikkein said.
Consultations and orders for the Rolls-Royce Spectre can be made at official Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showrooms nationwide, with prices starting at 620 million won ($487,680). The delivery of the Spectre to customers will be made sequentially starting in the fourth quarter of this year.
