Campaign introduces foods, fashion items and supports startups
캠페인, 식품 및 패션 아이템 소개하고 스타트업 지원해

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is launching a campaign to raise awareness of veganism by promoting diverse food choices and incentives for related startups.
서울시가 다양한 비건 먹거리 선택지를 홍보하고 이와 관련된 스타트업 장려책을 펼쳐 비거니즘 인식 제고를 위한 캠페인을 선보인다.
The Citizens' Environmental Cooperation Division under the city government's Climate and Environmental Headquarters announced on Tuesday that the government has several campaigns to promote veganism in near future.
화요일 서울시 기후환경본부 산하 환경시민협력과는 향후 정부가 비거니즘을 홍보하기 위해 다양한 캠페인을 펼칠 것이라고 알렸다.
The city government stressed the importance of veganism in lowering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, citing a U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization report released during the U.N. Climate Change Conference 2021 which showed that agriculture and food accounted for 31 percent of the world's total GHG emissions in 2019.
서울시는 지난해 유엔기후변화협약 당사국총회에서 발표된 유엔식량농업기구 보고서를 인용해 2019년 기준 농업 및 식량 분야에서 발생하는 온실가스가 전체 배출량의 31%를 차지한다고 언급하며 온실가스 배출 감축에 있어 비거니즘의 중요성을 강조했다.
The city government first plans to disseminate what veganism means and why people should adapt to it, as the majority of the public are still unfamiliar with it.
서울시는 많은 시민들이 비거니즘에 익숙하지 않은 만큼 우선 비거니즘의 의미와 사람들이 비거니즘에 적응해야 하는 이유를 널리 알릴 계획이다.
The city will promote the country's signature vegan dishes to the world and promote them in various ways.
서울시는 한국을 대표하는 비건 요리를 전 세계에 다양한 방식으로 홍보할 예정이다.
The city government also plans to hold a special pavilion for vegan lifestyle experiences at the Korea Vegan Fair 2022 held in COEX from July 8 to 10. The pavilion will exhibit various vegan products created by startups with the help of the city government's subsidies and other kinds of support. The event will showcase vegan foods, from meat substitutes to cheeses, as well as other products not made with animal products, such as cosmetics, handbags and fashion items.
또 7월 8일부터 10일까지 코엑스에서 열리는 ‘코리아비건페어 2022'에서 비건 라이프스타일을 경험하는 특별한 체험관을 개최한다. 이번 체험관에는 서울시 창업기관을 통해 지원을 받은 스타트업들의 다양한 비건 관련 제품을 전시할 예정이다. 대체육부터 치즈에 해당하는 비건 음식뿐만 아니라 화장품, 가방, 패션 아이템들과 같이 동물성 제품으로 만들어지지 않은 비건 제품들을 선보인다.
