Surreal fields of pink grass are drawing attention, becoming a new tourist attraction in Korea.
비현실적인 핑크빛 잔디밭이 눈길을 끌며 한국의 새로운 관광 명소가 되고 있다.
The weird yet exquisite U.S. native pink muhly grass is emerging as the most-sought-after autumn plant, especially because the ornamental grasses offers stunning visual effects for social media photos.
이상하지만 매우 아름다운, 미국에서 온 이 핑크 뮬리 풀은 가장 인기 있는 가을 식물로 떠오르고 있다. 특히 이 장식용 풀이 소셜 미디어 사진에 놀라운 시각적 효과를 제공하기 때문이다.
In the wake of the plant's evergrowing popularity, more local governments and district offices are keen to paint the nation's once yellow and red autumn landscape with pink waves.
이 식물의 늘어나는 인기에 힘입어, 더 많은 지방 정부와 군청들이 한때는 노란색과 빨간색이던 가을 풍경을 분홍색으로 그리려 한다.
A restaurant and a church on Jeju Island are said to have first planted the grass in 2014, but it publicly made its name after being planted at a Jeju ecopark in a bid to attract more tourists, receiving rave reviews.
2014년 제주도의 한 식당과 교회가 처음으로 이 식물을 심은 것으로 알려졌지만, 더 많은 관광객을 유치하기 위해 제주 환경공원에 심은 후 대중에 알려졌고 극찬을 받았다.
Since then, pink muhly gardens have been established thick and fast across the nation. Currently, there are 32 pink muhly spots.
그 이후로 핑크 뮬리 정원이 전국에 우르르 생겨났다. 현재, 32개의 핑크 뮬리 명소들이 있다.
The pink grass is known botanically as Muhlenbergia capillaris and grows up to 90 centimeters tall. The drought-tolerant and undemanding plant is especially beautiful in early September to early November.
이 분홍색 풀은 식물학적으로 Muhlenbergia Capillaris라고 알려져 있고 90cm까지 자란다. 가뭄에 잘 견디며 까다롭지 않은 이 식물은 특히 9월 초에서 11월 초까지 아름답다.
