Disney's sensational "Frozen 2" surpassed 10 million admissions in South Korean theaters Saturday.
디즈니의 히트작 '겨울왕국 2'가 지난 토요일 한국에서 천만 관객을 돌파했다.
The animated movie set the record at 2:40 p.m., according to Walt Disney Korea, the local film distributing unit of the U.S. giant, based on a real-time box-office tally from the Korean Film Council.
월트디즈니의 국내 배급사 월트디즈니코리아에 따르면 이 애니메이션 영화는 한국 영화진흥위원회의 실시간 티켓발권 기준을 바탕으로 토요일 오후 2시 40분에 천만 관객 기록을 세웠다.
It exceeded the mark on the 17th day since its Nov. 21 release and became the 27th film to reach the milestone of a 10 million box office in South Korea.
11월 21일 개봉 이후 17일 만에 이 기록을 넘어섰으며, 대한민국에서 천만 관객을 돌파한 27번째 영화가 되었다.
Its 2014 predecessor, "Frozen," posted a total attendance of 10.3 million, becoming the first animated film to achieve the feat in the country.
2014년 전편인 '겨울왕국'은 총 관객수 1030만 명을 기록하며 국내 최초로 '천만 애니메이션'이라는 위업을 달성했다.
Thanks to the success of the first film, "Frozen 2" has smashed the box office here since the first day of its screening.
전편의 성공 덕분에 '겨울왕국 2'는 상영 첫날부터 국내 박스오피스 1위를 차지했다.
About 1.66 million people saw the animated film on its first Saturday alone, on par with the all-time daily high set by Marvel's "Avengers: Endgame" in April this year.
올해 4월 마블의 '어벤져스: 엔드게임'이 세운 하루 최고 기록과 맞먹는 약 166만 명이 상영 첫날인 토요일에 이 애니메이션을 봤다.
It also sparked a heated debate over anti-monopoly regulations in the country as the flick accounted for 74 percent of all showings available on local screens that day.
'겨울왕국 2'는 또한 상영 첫날 국내 스크린 점유율이 74퍼센트를 차지해 국내 독점금지법에 대한 열띤 논쟁을 촉발했다.
