Kurly, Coupang, Oasis and other e-commerce companies are facing growing consumer complaints about the deteriorating quality of overnight delivery services amid soaring demand, according to industry analysts, Thursday.
목요일 업계 분석가에 따르면 컬리, 쿠팡, 오아시스 및 기타 전자 상거래 회사는 급증하는 수요로 인해 새벽배송 서비스의 품질이 저하된다는 소비자 불만에 직면하고 있다.
Kurly, an operator of the online grocery platform Market Kurly, was the first one to start overnight delivery, followed by Coupang and Oasis.
온라인 식료품 플랫폼 마켓컬리의 운영사 컬리가 가장 먼저 새벽배송을 시작했고 쿠팡과 오아시스가 뒤를 이었다.
After the three firms grew explosively with the service, which people found particularly indispensable during the pandemic, even more firms such as Naver Shopping, SSG.com and other local home shopping companies began to make deliveries in the morning.
특히 팬데믹 기간에 꼭 필요한 서비스로 세 회사가 폭발적으로 성장한 후, 네이버쇼핑, 쓱닷컴 및 기타 국내 홈쇼핑 회사와 같은 더 많은 회사가 새벽에 배달을 시작했다.
The size of the overnight delivery market in Korea reached 1 trillion won by 2018 and is expected to grow to 11.9 trillion won by next year. More e-commerce firms plan to offer the service.
국내 새벽배송 시장 규모는 2018년 1조원에 이르렀고 내년에는 11조9000억원까지 성장할 전망이다. 더 많은 전자 상거래 회사가 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
However, soaring demand for overnight delivery services has resulted in a shortage of manpower in the local logistics industry and a growing number of consumers have been receiving orders late recently.
그러나 급증하는 새벽배송 수요로 인해 국내 물류업계의 인력난이 발생하고 최근 늦게 주문을 받는 소비자가 늘어나고 있다.
"Last month, I ordered fresh food from Market Kurly before midnight and it arrived the next day, in the evening. I needed the food ingredients in order to cook breakfast for my family but I couldn't," 34-year-old housewife Kim said.
주부 김 씨(34)는 "지난달 자정이 되기 전에 마켓컬리에서 신선한 음식을 주문했는데 다음날 저녁에 도착했다. 가족들에게 아침식사를 준비하기 위해 식재료가 필요했는데 그러지 못했다"고 말했다.
"I have been using Market Kurly because of its overnight delivery service, but if they continue to send orders late, I don't have to use it."
"마켓컬리의 새벽배송 서비스 때문에 이용하고 있는데 계속해서 주문이 늦어진다면 굳이 이용하지 않아도 될 것 같다."
