Korean boy band phenomenon BTS on Wedesday (March 27) gave fans a sneak peak at their upcoming album "Map of The Soul: Persona" by releasing a new teaser trailer.

BTS, who are a seven-member band, announced earlier this month that "Map of The Soul: Persona" would be released on April 12.

Media reports suggest the new video, which features the group's lead rapper, RM, is for the new album's first track, entitled "Persona."

BTS, who have been together since 2013, have gained a worldwide following, winning over fans across continents and helping popularize the K-pop music genre further afield from Asia.

In 2018, BTS became the first K-pop performers to have a no.1 album on the Billboard 200 with "Love Yourself: Tear" and they made UK chart history soon after by becoming the first K-pop group to have a Top 40 single in the British charts. (Reuters)
