A person has anonymously accused two teachers at an elementary school in North Jeolla Province of repeatedly having sex on the premises ― apparently even when children were around ― on the presidential petitions website
The petitioner wrote, Dec. 24, that a married male teacher and his single female coworker repeatedly had sex in classrooms, hallways and during school field trips.
"On a field trip, the couple went behind the scenes while relegating their duties to a part-time instructor the school had hired," the petitioner wrote. "In hallways, the female teacher recorded her counterpart lying on a sofa, which school children witnessed and must have construed as the couple being more than coworkers."
The petitioner added the couple at the school in Jangsu County chatted during class-hours using a messenger used by the school faculty. Part of their conversations revealed by the petitioner showed the couple had sexual desires toward each other even while on duty. The petitioner pointed this out to argue they "inhumanely violated the children's rights to learn."
"I have about 50 photos and a video of them from August to October this year in which they kiss and touch each other in classrooms," the petitioner said.
The petitioner said the female teacher confessed to the school principal about the relationship, Oct. 26, and the couple later met with the principal to confirm this. But the principal didn't report them to the county office of education or the provincial office of education, the petitioner added. The petitioner condemned the authorities for "not understanding the gravity of the incident and being irresponsible in handing down due administrative penalties."
The petitioner, based on how closely they described the couple's misconduct and how the school principal responded to them, could be a coworker. "The two teachers didn't have a proper moral code about sex and are far from being qualified for their job and must be disqualified for good," the petitioner demanded.
The North Jeolla Education Office launched an investigation and the couple confessed that they were dating, local reports said Dec. 27. However, they denied having inappropriate physical contact in classrooms as described on the website.
The petition as of Dec. 27 drew nearly 7,000 endorsing votes. The presidential office is legally required to make an official response to all petitions from the website with 200,000 votes or more, within 30 days.
