He will then share his insight on the causes of escalated tension between the world's two largest economies and possible ways to settle the conflict.

The lecture will center on his latest book, "Accidental Conflict: America, China and the Clash of False Narratives." It was published in November 2022.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session. English and Korean translations will be available at the seminar.

Roach has been a senior fellow at Yale Law School's Paul Tsai Center China Center since fall, of 2022.

He previously served as a senior fellow at Yale University's Jackson Institute of Global Affairs for 13 years.

According to Yale University, Roach's teaching and research program focus on the impacts of Asia on the broader global economy.

He has introduced new courses for undergraduates and graduate students on "The Next China" and "The Lessons of Japan."

His writing and research also address globalization, trade policy, the post-crisis policy architecture, and the capital markets implications of global imbalances.

Before coming to Yale, he worked at Morgan Stanley for 30 years. He led the firm's global team of economists before taking up the role as chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia in June 2007.

During his career at Morgan Stanley, he was widely recognized as one of Wall Street's most influential thought leaders.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Roach served as the research staff of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board and was also a research fellow at the Brookings Institution. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from New York University.

He has written extensively on global economic imbalances and on Asia and China's place and future in the post-crisis world.

His works include "Stephen Roach on the Next Asia: Opportunities and Challenges for a New Globalization" in 2009 and "Unbalanced: The Codependency of America and China" in 2014.
