Singer Lee Hyo-ri is set to revive the best days of her career along with four K-pop divas from across generations with tvN's new music variety show "Dancing Queens on the Road."
Led by star producer Kim Tae-ho, the new show, set to go on air Thursday, brings five top female artists ― Lee, Kim Wan-sun, Uhm Jung-hwa, BoA and Hwasa ― to travel around the country to perform. Along the way, the singers meet their fans face-to-face and perform their hit songs.
"It's been a while since I've performed. So instead of just reenacting my past (performances), I felt like I was creating something new. That's how much I had to prepare. Singing the songs that came out 20 years ago, it really felt like something new," Lee said during the online press conference for the show, Tuesday.
"I was worried that the songs might be considered outdated. But as I continue working on the show, I've realized that those songs are still good songs. Whether it was one of mine or Kim and Uhm's, legendary songs are relatable. I was a little intimidated at first but after a few performances, I'm gaining confidence."

The show started with Lee's idea while filming for her reality show "Seoul Check-In" last year with the producer. When she met up with Uhm for a casual talk, it turned into a group gathering as the two started inviting the rest of the cast members.
"There was no special reason for the gathering. The reason for these cast members is that their numbers are on Uhm's cell phone. We just met up to grab something to eat," she said, adding that she felt pressure as a person who came up with the idea for the show.
"As the one who brought up the idea to do this, I had a sense of responsibility. I was worried that it would be hard, not interesting enough, or the members would regret doing it. But they've been enjoying taking part so I'm also happily putting effort into it."
Producer Kim shared that the cast members have put in some hard yards preparing for their performances. "All five of them were very enthusiastic in making the performance and the show. So what worried us the most was their health. There were days they couldn't sleep or skipped meals due to late-night rehearsals," he said.
"In the show, it's only a four-minute performance. But for that four minutes, there was a two-month process to prepare. We captured how sincere they are towards the stage and their dramatic story."
Hwasa hinted that the show will offer one-and-only performances. "You can't see this anywhere else. I wondered if I would ever be able to give such a performance again. That's how unbelievable it was. The show will have so many unimaginable moments. You can look forward to them," she said.
"Dancing Queens on the Road" will air every Thursday at 10:30 p.m.
