After a wave of high-profile K-pop groups like Girls' Generation, IVE and TWICE heated up the K-pop scene in August, another crop of stars are preparing for their new music offerings this month. Included in the lineup are ONEUS, NCT 127 and NMIXX.
Boy group ONEUS is set to drop its eighth mini-album, "MALUS," Sept. 5, about four months after putting out its seventh EP, "TRICKSTER."
The upcoming mini-album will offer seven tracks including the lead single "Same Scent" ― a tune about a man who cannot forget the scent of his ex-lover.
"Characterized by reggae rhythms and guitar sounds, the song will highlight the vocal prowess of ONEUS members," the group's record label RBW said in a statement. "It has sentimental lyrics, too."
After debuting with the EP "Light Us" in 2019, ONEUS has made its name known to the public with tracks like "Luna" (2021).

Boy group NCT 127 is set to roll out its fourth full-length album, "2 Baddies," Sept. 16, about a year after dropping its third studio album, "Sticker."
According to its management company SM Entertainment, the album will be fronted by the title track. It will also carry 11 other tracks of various genres.
On the day of the album release, NCT 127 is planning to stage a special show at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. The members will premiere "2 Baddies" in front of their fans and reveal some behind-the-scenes stories of producing the album.
"The event will also be livestreamed on global platform Beyond LIVE," SM said in a statement.
NCT 127, which embarked on its second world tour, "NEO CITY ― THE LINK," in Seoul last December, will continue its tour in different cities in Asia, North America and South America after unleashing "2 Baddies."

Rookie girl group NMIXX's new EP, "ENTWURF" is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 19, about seven months after the septet debuted with the EP, "AD MARE."
Leading the upcoming EP is "DICE," a song that blends more than two music genres. According to NMIXX's agency JYP Entertainment, Armadillo, who previously worked with JYP's big-name stars like TWICE and Stray Kids, took part in the songwriting process. The EP will carry one more tune, titled "COOL (Your rainbow)."
"With the new EP, NMIXX will carve out its own presence in the K-pop scene as the leader of the next generation," JYP said in a statement. "It will also expand its fictional universe."
On top of the aforementioned groups, Kim Jae-hwan, a former member of the now-defunct project boy band Wanna One, will drop his fifth mini-album, "Empty Dream," on Sept. 5 and Choi Yoo-jung of K-pop girl group Weki Meki will make her solo debut with the EP "Sunflower" on Sept. 14. On Sept. 16, BLACKPINK's second studio album, "Born Pink," will hit shelves. The quartet released "Pink Venom" ― which will also be included in "Born Pink" ― on Aug. 19 and its music video has hit 230 million views on YouTube as of Friday.
