Former MBC sportscaster Park Sin-young apologized and expressed her condolences for the death of a motorcycle delivery worker on Tuesday following a collision at an intersection in Sangam-dong in Seoul's Mapo District.

At the time of the accident, Park was driving her SUV through the intersection on a yellow traffic signal, while the motorcycle had run a red light, according to police. Following the crash at around 10:30 a.m., the man in his 50s died at the scene.

Park, 30, was questioned by police and released later that day.

Her agency, IOK Company, apologized to the victim's family, saying she could not see the motorcycle coming through the intersection.

After graduating New York University, Park debuted as a TV sportscaster on MBC SPORTS+ in 2014. Until she left the broadcaster in 2017, Park interviewed some of the most famous athletes in Korea and around the world, including baseball players Ryu Hyun-jin and Kang Jung-ho, American golfer Jordan Spieth and British footballer David Beckham.

After becoming a freelancer in 2018, she has worked for various TV channels, including Channel A, JTBC Golf and MBC. She signed up with IOK in 2019.
