K-pop boy group iKON member Kim Ji-won, better known by his stage name Bobby, will make his return as a solo artist, the singer's agency YG Entertainment said Friday.
The detailed schedule, including the specific album release date and the theme of the project are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
The agency announced the news through its official blog, unveiling a clip "BOBBY - COMING SOON TEASER."
The 27-second video showed the silhouette of the singer standing on a high-rise building overlooking a river.
This will be his first solo release in over three years. The artist made his solo debut with the album "LOVE AND FALL" in September 2017.
Bobby became known to the public in 2013 through Mnet's audition show "WIN: WHO IS NEXT," which starred YG's trainees. He shot to stardom even before his K-pop debut by winning Mnet's popular hip-hop survival show "Show Me the Money 3" in 2014.
A year later, he debuted as a member of the seven-piece boy group iKon. The group has released several hit songs, including "My Type" (2015) and "LOVE SCENARIO" (2018). Former iKon leader B.I. left the group in 2019 after a drug scandal.
