The second season of SBS's hit series "The Penthouse: War in Life" will premiere Feb. 19, the network announced Wednesday unveiling a 30-second teaser for the show.

The clip that starts with lead antagonist Cheon Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon) hints at uncovering the real killer of Shim Su-ryeon (Lee Ji-ah).

"Season 2 will unfold a fascinating story that will top the first season. We ask the viewers for much support and anticipation," the network said.

Written by Kim Soon-ok, who is known for the hit remake "Temptation of Wife," and "The Last Empress," the story revolves around the residents of the luxury apartment block Hera Palace.

The first season, which aired last October, ended on a cliffhanger with the death of Su-ryeon who was seeking revenge against other residents for the killing of her daughter.

The series raised some people's eyebrows due to graphic scenes and highly sensational plot.

It involved scenes like villain Joo Dan-tae (Uhm Ki-joon) locking up and abusing his children in a small room for their poor school grades, and Seo-jin attacking Oh Yoon-hee (Eugene) to slit her throat with a trophy.

Despite this, the viewership rating, which started at 9.2 percent, continued to rise to achieve its highest at a 28.8 percent with the last episode.

"The Penthouse: War in Life 2" will air Fridays and Saturdays.
