United Airlines in another customer blunder
Major U.S. carrier United Airlines is in hot water again, this time after a couple were thrown off a plane while on their way to get married. The Saturday incident follows a wave of criticism on Apr. 10 after the airline violently removed a Vietnamese-American doctor from an overbooked flight.

Seoul campaigns to help Myeongdong
Seoul’s Jung-gu office will launch a campaign to boost domestic interest in the Myeongdong tourism district on Apr. 17. The campaign will focus on helping Myeongdong, where sales have dropped sharply as Chinese tourists stay away as part of China’s retaliation against the deployment of a high-altitude missile defense system in South Korea.

Samsung office evacuated after bomb threat
A Samsung office building in southern Seoul is under lockdown after receiving a bomb threat on Friday, according to a company official. The Samsung Life building received a bomb threat at around 11:30 a.m. The building is one of three Samsung buildings at the site, with the other two occupied by Samsung Electronics and Samsung C&T.

North Korea’s top university, Kim Il-sung University, will launch a three-week summer program for international students on July 2. Applications are under way, seemingly under the supervision of Juche Travel Services, a British tour agency specializing in the isolated country. Maximum accommodation has been set at 30.

Chuncheon city is suffering from massive amounts of illegally dumped trash in residential areas near colleges. Although the city has stepped up inspections and issued fines to college students, it has seen little improvement. Cleaners say trash not in standard disposable plastic bags is the least of their worries.

[Crime Scene] Foreigners arrested over traffic offences, rape
Three Koreans and 10 foreign students, including one Uzbek, have been arrested for reckless driving, according to Yongsan Police Station on Wednesday. The suspects allegedly disobeyed traffic lights, drove over the center line and frequently drove on the wrong side of the road. The offences occurred from January.
