SK Broadband tops customer satisfaction index for 13th straight year

SK Broadband, an internet service and internet protocol TV (IPTV) provider, has topped the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) for the 13th consecutive year by providing enhanced services, the company said Monday.

The NCSI is determined by the Korea Productivity Center (KPC) based on consumer evaluations of companies' products and services. The index is released on an annual basis to evaluate competitiveness of companies and industries.

SK Broadband ranked first in the IPTV and high-speed internet categories for this year's NCSI survey, making it a winner in the sector for 13 years straight.

The company said it has been able to consistently achieve such good results by reflecting the opinions of its customers faithfully.

"SK Broadband has been operating customer advisory groups since 2014 to enhance service competitiveness and create differentiated customer value by reflecting customers' opinions," the company said.

It launched B Friends, its 11th customer advisory group, in March. Comprised of members from various household types, be it single-, two-person or larger families, the advisory group has been actively participating in the product and service development process through next-generation remote controllers and set-top boxes.

SK Broadband's IPTV service B tv is specialized for children and seniors. B tv ZEM, an integrated wired and wireless service brand for children under the age of 12, is being well-received with popular programs such as "Pinkfong Playground" and exclusive content such as "Pororo." By applying SK Telecom's Supernova and video quality enhancement (VQE) technology, the company provides upgraded video quality.

Also, SK Broadband is the only IPTV service provider that offers Happy Senior, a dedicated menu for seniors who are mainstream TV viewers. Happy Senior provides free music videos, seniors' job information, health and travel information and even various IT education videos. It has also partnered with a theater in Seoul to teach digital skills, including the use of kiosks.

The company has been strengthening its non-face-to-face customer services, so that customers can resolve various service requests quickly and easily without having to speak to a representative. It has also introduced live videos to help customers understand new products.
