LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan held an online event called "CEO F.U.N Talk" with some 7,000 employees, Oct. 6, to urge them to build the company into a winning brand that customers are enthusiastic about, it said, Thursday. The event was the fourth time the CEO has met with his staff online to communicate with them.
"In order for LG Electronics to be loved steadily over time and generations, we have to establish the brand with its own value and character. The two most important assets that we must maintain and develop for the company's future are 'people' and 'brand,'" Cho said. "We need to build stronger brands that people go wild for as their demands become more varied day by day."
The electronics company also shared the brand's orientation to provide "better lives for customers and better global environment through its innovative smart life solutions" with the employees.
It set as the company's future brand direction the three key values: uncompromising quality, human-centered innovation and warmth to power a smile.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session with management and the employees.
In response to one question about how to build the company brand's fan base, Cho said, "We will achieve it by actively communicating with our patrons, while creating more offline spaces for them to experience our services and products."
He added, "The brand of LG Electronics is built by gathering stories of our staff working closely with our customers. I ask our staff to become ambassadors of the LG brand to create customer value in their current positions."
Participants of the event also shared their opinions with Cho and left some 3,000 comments online.
"We know LG makes the best home appliances and we heard from our parents that LG is a good brand, but the company needs to increase its brand awareness with young generations too," a university student from the company's external advisory panel said during the event.
