Hero or traitor?
When I was in fifth grade, one of my classmates was poor but seemed to have some pride at heart. Some friends said his grandfather had fought against Japanese imperialism. When I told my father, he replied by quoting a famous saying, “Independence fighters are poor for three generations while pro-Japanese collaborators are rich for three generations.”
