The Kia Tigers, the Gwangju-based KBO team, is the second -- along with Busan's Lotte Giants -- to start an English radio commentary for their home games.
The commentary, which began on June 28, will be broadcast through the Gwangju Foreign Language Network (GFN).
GFN plans to cover the 20 home games left for the Kia Tigers until September.
Jason Lee, who was the first Asian sportscaster in Canada, is leading the commentary. Other expats living in Gwangju also are expected to participate.
"There has been a rising interest in baseball in Gwangju as the Kia Tigers rank first in the KBO league," a GFN official said. "We expect a lot of Gwangju expats will tune in to our station."
GFN can be found on 98.7 Mhz in Gwangju and west of South Jeolla Province and on 93.7 Mhz for Yeosu and east of South Jeolla Province.
