Kia Motors unveils 2018 K-7 sedan

Kia Motors has unveiled the 2018 K-7 sedan featuring the carmaker’s latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Kia Motors said the large sedan is the second of its vehicles to be equipped with the highway drive assistance (HDA) system, after the Stinger sports sedan. The HDA system activates during the smart cruise control mode that maintains distance from the car ahead while traveling under the speed limit.

The 2018 Kia K-7 sedan comes with five engine choices _ 2.4-liter, 3.0-liter or 3.3-liter gasoline, 2.2-liter diesel engine, or a hybrid engine.

“The 2018 Kia K-7 sedan will meet a wide range of customer needs for cutting-edge ADAS and various power train choices,” a Kia Motors official said.

“The sedan’s affordability will attract and satisfy more K-7 fans.”

The 2.2-liter diesel and 2.4-liter gasoline engine models come with six-speed automatic transmission while the 3.0-liter and 3.3-liter gasoline engine models feature eight-speed automatic transmission.

Producing maximum 266 horsepower with a 31.4 kg.m torque, the 3.0-liter GDI gasoline engine choice is newly added for the 2018 K-7 sedan.

Separate from the HDA, the 2018 K-7 hybrid also has Kia’s latest ADAS technologies, such as lane keeping assistance and driver attention warning.

The 2018 K-7 hybrid can travel 16.2 kilometers per liter.

The 2018 K-7 sedan with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine is priced between 31.05 million won ($28,499) and 33.3 million won while the 2.2-liter diesel one is sold between 34.05 million won and 36.3 million won.

The 3.0-liter and 3.3-liter gasoline engine models are priced between 33.75 million won and 39.9 million won. The hybrid one is sold between 35.9 million won and 39.75 million won.

For the 2018 K7 sedan consumers, Kia Motors said it will pay possible dent and scratch repair service fees up to 300,000 won. The 2018 customers who experience minor accidents within three months after delivery are eligible for the service.
