About taxi drivers

Listen

Dear editor,

I would like to complain about taxi drivers' rude behavior which makes customers angry.

Firstly, taxi drivers drive aggressively. Because of their tough and aggressive driving, passengers may become carsick. Whenever I take a taxi, 70 percent of the time I am carsick. I want taxi drivers to drive safely and slowly.

Secondly, some taxi drivers manipulate the taximeter in order to earn more money. Not every taxi driver does this, but some do. Whenever I take a taxi in my hometown, the price is variable. The gap between the taxi prices is often very big and different.

You cannot say it is just because of traffic, because many people think like me that this situation happens not because of the traffic but because of the drivers' manipulation. I have heard that some taxi drivers manipulate the taximeter. I think the supervisor of the taxi companies need to make a thorough examination of this problem.

If these two matters were taken into consideration, many passengers would feel better and happier about taking taxis. There are many people who believe taxi drivers are people who are not always honest.

The time has come for these problems to be highlighted by your newspaper. I hope that taxi drivers will start to drive in a safe manner and that they would be honest about their fares.
