Survivors of the sunken ferry Sewol were among the 630,000 students taking the CSAT, Thursday.
A total of 72 seniors of Danwon High School in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, sat the college entrance test.
The tragedy happened in April last year when the students were in their second year.
They lost 250 of their classmates to the disaster, but 72 among the 75 surviving students took the test. The other three were accepted into university through an early admissions program.
While most Korean high schools skipped a school day to serve as test sites, Danwon High School had regular classes.
This was because the classrooms of the second-year students who were victims of the tragedy remain preserved.
First and second-year students at Danwon High School came with yellow ribbons on their uniforms and bags, and some bereaved family members came to pay tribute.
