Gimpo Foreign Language High School invites English teachers from US university

Qualified English teachers from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego will teach at Gimpo Foreign Language High School, beginning March.
"Given that our school specializes in foreign language education, we have emphasized mastering diverse languages let alone having good command of English. And we need well-qualified native teachers to pursue this goal," said Bong In-kun, the high school's principal, said.
He and Debora F. Stanley, president of SUNY Oswego, signed a memorandum of understanding at the high school's campus in Gimpo, west of Seoul, Dec. 19
He also formed a partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia last August with the same purpose.
Under those accords, graduates from the two American universities will come to the high school starting from next March.
Gimpo is in need of at least two teachers right away.
"Currently we are only discussing receiving teachers from SUNY Oswego, but this is just a beginning. We will develop the partnership by expanding human resources exchanges and organizing various joint education programs," he said.
