TV personality indicted for tracking wife

A popular Hallyu actor and singer Ryu Si-won has been indicted without physical detention for secretly attaching a GPS (global positioning system) on his wife’s car.

According to prosecutors, Ryu secretly attached the device in his wife’s Mercedes sedan in May 2011 and installed a tracking devices in his mobile phone to gain information about the activities of his wife, a 29-year-old Cho.

Cho asked for the GPS device to be removed in August of that year, following which Ryu slapped her around and called her all kinds of vulgar names.

Ryu’s entertainment company said there was no violence between the couple and that the allegations are being made to earn an advantage in a divorce proceeding.
