Ireland

The Embassy of Ireland, South Korea, and The Irish Association of Korea are organizing the second Irish-Korean Essay Competition for university students in Korea.

“Anniversary” is the topic of the competition.

The top winner will be awarded one-month study in the Emerald Cultural Institute, including accommodation, a round-trip flight ticket to Dublin and a cash prize. The runner-up will be awarded cash and cultural prizes, and third and fourth places will be given cultural prizes.

A full-time, registered and undergraduate student is eligible to apply. The deadline is Nov. 30, and submissions must be sent to seoulembassy@dfa.ie. For more information, contact irishassociationofkorea@gmail.com

A charity auction “Children in Need” will take place on Friday at the British Embassy.

The proceeds will be donated to the BBC Children in Need charity and Holt Ilsan Welfare Town.

Prizes donated include one night at the JW Marriott Seoul and Grand Hilton Seoul; ice skating tickets at the Grand Hyatt; sets of Micoach; golf bags and vouchers to shop at Marks and Spencer. Standard Charted was a sponsor for the event.
