More Australian schools teaching Korean language

An increasing number of schools in Australia are adopting Korean language courses into their curriculums.

Sydney Korean Cultural Office said Saturday that 48 primary and secondary schools in Australia have added the Korean language course this year, up from 38 schools in 2008.

As trade between the two countries has expanded, the Australian government implemented the National Asian Language and Studies in Schools Program in 2009, which includes four Asian languages — Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian.
