U.S. weekly magazine Newsweek has put South Korea top on the list of pornography revenue per capita in its graphic news on sex of American people on its Internet edition on Feb. 6.

According to the report, a Korean has been surveyed to have spent $526.76 (approximately 588,000 won) on average in 2006.
Newsweek reported that it quoted the statistics in “Ranking America”(http://rankingamerica.wordpress.com/), a blog run by American studies professor Mark Rice of the St. John Fisher College. It also said that the article involving “Ranking America” posted on its Internet last August was based on “Top10review.com.”

Japan came second with $156.75, followed by Finland with $114.7, Australia with $98.7, Brazil with $57.17, the Czech Republic with $44.94, the United States with $44.67, Taiwan with $43.41, Britain with $31.84 and Canada with $30.21.

According to the article, the world’s porn industry totaled $97,060 million in 2006, of which China topped with $27.4 billion, followed by South Korea with $25,730 million. Japan came fourth with $19,980 million, followed by the U.S. with $13,330 million, Australia with $2 billion, Britain with $1,970 million and Italia with $140 million.

If this is translated into per person, Korea ranked top, according to the article.
