The Korea Railway Workers' Union said Wednesday its members will begin an indefinite strike starting today to press management to resume negotiations. The walkout will start at 9 a.m.
The union claimed that KORAIL unilaterally ceased talks Tuesday afternoon. The negotiations covered a wide range of key issues related to the company's downsizing plan, including wage cuts and reducing welfare programs.
The union went on a partial strike on Nov. 5 and 6 in Seoul and other metropolitan areas.
KORAIL responded that all trains will operate according to schedule.
