Foreign residents will be welcome to the inaugural walking festival at Baekbeom Plaza, Mt. Namsan Park from 2 p.m. Saturday (June 13).
Participants will walk the 7.5-kilometer circular route surrounding the mountain over about two hours. The route, which vehicles are banned from, is easy and comfortable to walk even for visually impaired people. Senior citizens and children can take a shortened 3-kilometer walk.
The walking festival will be held 13 times until the end of the year.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Hankook Ilbo and The Korea Times will co-host the event with the aim of inviting a total of 1 million participants throughout the course of the event.
