A police officer was arrested Tuesday for having allegedly set fire to a prosecutor's office where he was questioned over false reports.

The man identified as Kim sneaked into the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office in North Jeolla Province on Feb. 15 10:00 p.m. and lit fires on a sofa and books of a prosecutor who questioned him over false reports on criminals, according to the prosecution office. The prosecutors extracted a piece of skin from a lighter to find Kim's DNA.

Kim is on a trial for having written fake reports about local gangsters two years ago, when his police station was conducting a crackdown. He was arrested but was released on bail. Kim is denied being involved in the arson attack.
