Four Koreans, including newly weds, were killed in a car accident on Fiji, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said Thursday.
According to local police, seven Koreans ― three newly wed couples on their honeymoon and a tour guide ― went driving around 11 a.m. local time in the Nausori Highlands on Nadi Island in a modified all terrain vehicle.
However, the vehicle drove off a cliff, killing married couple Lee Hyeong-gon, 28, and Kim Gye-yeon, 26, tour guide Cho Seong-cheol and 26 year-old Kim Jeong-mi. Kim Jeong-mi's husband Kim Seung-hyeon, 28, and another unidentified couple survived the crash but are in critical condition, the ministry said.
Local police assume careless driving to be the cause of the tragedy.
Officials from the Korean embassy in Fiji are also investigating the case.
