An Internet user, already infamous for chasing celebrity gossip and posting malicious comments, was arrested Thursday for killing her mother.

Seoul Gangseo Police arrested 31-year-old Jeon on suspicion of beating her mother to death. She began hitting her mother, Choi, who is degree-two mentally disabled, when being scolded Sunday to ``get a job instead of being stuck inside the room all day long.'' When the mother collapsed, Jeon left her in the room.

Jeon called for emergency aid only after she realized her mother had not moved for more than a day. Medical staff and police found bruises and other wounds on the deceased person's body and questioned Jeon. She said, ``There had been several rows of this kind over my being jobless. I just lost my mind.''

Jeon is notorious among Internet users for making up lies about celebrities and making malicious comments about them. She claimed on her personal Web site that she and a famous actor were in a relationship. She was fined in 2005.

When actor Ahn Jae-hwan killed himself, allegedly due to his business failure and debt in September, she said, ``His marriage was a fake one based on money. When there's not a penny left between them, it's natural that the consequence is suicide.'' Her comments caused a great stir in the Internet world.
