Earlier this week, America Online (AOL) made mistakes on its Web site by posting pictures of North Korean flags in a graphic showing the results of South Korean golfers at the Evian Masters women's tournament, which finished Sunday in Evian-les-Bains, France.
Four of the golfers listed in the graphic ― Choi Na-yeon, Ahn Shi-hyun, Shin Ji-yai and Ahn Sun-ju ― are young and not well known internationally.
However, the fifth, Pak Se-ri, is a five-time major winner and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, making the error especially noticeable.
AOL also displayed a picture of a North Korean flag next to the results of South Korea's Yang Yong-eun, who finished 37th at the Canadian Open men's tournament, which ended Sunday in Oakville, Ontario.
By Wednesday morning, AOL had corrected the mistakes, putting South Korean flags next to the golfers' names.
