North Jeolla Province began to operate a free bus service for foreign tourists seeking to visit major destinations within the province from March 1.
The bus route linking Gwanghwamun in central Seoul and the Ribera Hotel in Jeonju, will be operated until the end of August, according an official of the provincial government.
The bus is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those wanting to use the service are required to apply personally through the homepage of the provincial government or its call center.
The limousine bus can accommodate up to 40 passengers. It departs Seoul at 8:00 a.m. and returns to Seoul at 5:00 p.m.
Guides are also aboard the bus to provide translation services in English, Chinese and Japanese to brief the tourists on major tourist attractions in North Jeolla Province.
Last year, a total of 8,131 foreigners used the bus, with Japanese accounting for 36.5 percent while those from China and Southeast Asia took up 32.5 percent and 19.1 percent, respectively.
