LG Electronics Inc., a leading Korean consumer appliance manufacturer, said Wednesday that one of its washing machines has been chosen as a best model by an authoritative U.K. consumer report for the third straight year.

The F1495BDS model washing machine received a well-rounded evaluation in a total of nine categories, including cotton wash and easy care wash, in the review by Which?, the company said.

The home appliance giant was the only non-European player to make it on the top 10 list that included German companies Robert Bosch GmbH and Siemens AG, according to LG.

"LG has topped consumer reviews in the three areas of the U.S., Europe and Oceania this year. It will continue to target advanced markets on the back of its well-acknowledged technology," a company official said.

The company's market share in the European washing machine market stood at around 10 percent in 2011. (Yonhap)
