Hordes of maggots removed from man's ear

Many people have heard a horror story involving bugs that burrowed into a person's ear.

If that made you a bit queasy, then this story about a man with a mass of squiggling maggots in his ear will make your stomach turn.

The incident reportedly occurred last May when the man approached Dr. Vikram Yadav, a dermatologist in Faizabad, India.

After the man complained of a buzzing sound in his ear, Yadav discovered that houseflies had entered the man's ear while he was asleep and laid their larvae inside. Those larvae hatched into hordes of maggots.

Yadav pulled the maggots out with a pair of tweezers, recording the procedure and uploading to YouTube.

Yadav explains on the video that the best way to expel the maggots is to suffocate them so "they come to the surface." He adds that people should be vigilant about houseflies in their bedrooms.

인도의 한 남성이 귀에 잘못 들어온 파리가 알을 낳아 구더기를 제거해야 하는 끔찍한 일이 벌어졌다.

현지 보도에 따르면, 익명의 인도 남성은 귀에서 웅웅거리는 소리가 나 피부과 전문의를 찾았고, 진찰을 본 의사는 남성의 귀에 잘못 들어간 파리가 알을 낳아 유충들을 제거해야 한다고 판단했다.

의사는 남성의 귀에서 구더기로 변한 유충들을 핀셋으로 건져내는 장면을 영상으로 찍어 유투브에 게재했다.

그는 설명에 “유충들을 제거하는 가장 좋은 방법은 표면으로 직접 오도록 질식하는 방법”이라며 “앞으로는 방에 날아다니는 파리에 각별한 주의를 기울이길”이라고 덧붙였다.
