Rescue crews in Chicago are pulling zombies out of Lake Michigan.
The life-size zombie figurines were part of a floating haunted house for Halloween. The barge sank after high winds caused large waves on the lake, WGN reports.
Since the incident on Oct. 31, crews have been working to recover the 50 zombies that sank, along with the rest of the barge.
John LaFlamboy, owner of the haunted house, told WGN that it was tough to watch the barge go down.
"It's an unbelievable amount of effort from painters to costume makers," LaFlamboy said of the sunken contents. "So to watch it sink was very heartbreaking for a lot of us."
LaFlamboy said only a handful of the zombies had been recovered as of last week.
