U.S. soldiers who fought in the Korean War have been invited to Korea to mark the 67th anniversary of the war's outbreak.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) said Tuesday
81 people -- veterans and their families -- will arrive in Korea Thursday.
They will attend a commemorative ceremony and visit Panmunjom in Paju, Gyeonggi Province -- where the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement was signed. They also will visit the War Memorial and Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul.
MVPA Minister Pi Woo-jin has organized an appreciation dinner for the veterans on June 26.
Public organizations have been inviting foreign Korean War veterans to Korea since 1975. The ministry took on the official role of inviting veterans in 2010.
Over 31,000 foreign veterans and their families have visited Korea with the help of the program.
