A fire broke out in an underground grocery store in the controversial Lotte World Tower in southeastern Seoul on early on Monday morning.
The fire at Lotte Mart started at 12:48 a.m. An employee extinguished the fire within five minutes, according to the Lotte E&C safety management committee.
But Netizens claimed the time was "more like 16 minutes."
More than 70 people at Lotte Cinema theater in the same building was ordered to leave in the middle of the movie.
Fire officials believe the fire started in an overheated refrigerator motor.
