Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI), led by President Choi Jung-wha, hosts photo and video contest as part of its Culture Communication Forum (CCF) on topics of "Korea, I want to introduce to my foreign friend," and "Korea in my eyes." The winning pieces will be displayed for a month at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in December.
The eligible contest participants are anybody who lives in Korea including foreigner diplomats, businessmen or journalists based here.
CCF is an annual program hosted by CICI to invite leading cultural figures from G20 countries to Korea. The cultural representatives will experience traditional and modern culture here and promote Korean culture when they return home.
If former CCF only targeted cultural leaders from G20 countries, this year's CCF have expanded its participant's pool to further promote Korean culture on a greater scale and various fields.
The title of 2017 CCF is "Korea through the eye of a lens," which focuses on the "visual" as the only sense to perceiving the image of Korea. The previous forums in the last seven years asked candidates to experience Korea with all five senses and express them.
Foreign cultural figures will join the night of CCF 2017 event to make a speech on the importance of perceiving the image of a country through the five senses and deliver commentary on the winning pieces.
The event is set for Aug. 29 at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul and some 250 cultural leaders are expected to participate.
The event is organized by CICI, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korean Culture and Information Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic missions accredited to the ROK.
